When he was a young man, he worked on dairy farms in Wisconsin, where he gained a love for animals. Watching them interact in various situations instilled in him the desire to write true stories about them. He writes from the animal's perspective, highlighting their individual personalities. He hopes to pass on to young people his appreciation and respect for them, hoping they will learn, grow in knowledge and do the same.
