David Welch is Professor of Modern History and Director of the Centre for the Study of Propaganda and War at the University of Kent, UK. His books include Modern European History, 1871-2000 , Germany, Propaganda and Total War 1914-18 , Hitler: Profile of a Dictator , The Third Reich: Politics and Propaganda and Propaganda and the German Cinema, 1933-45 . He is co-author of Propaganda and Mass Persuasion: A Historical Encyclopedia, 1500 to Present and is the general editor of Routledge's Sources in History series.
