Johnny L. Matson received his Ph.D. in 1976 and has spent his career as a researcher and academically involved in the training of doctoral level clinical psychologists specializing in developmental disabilities. He is the major professor of 44 Ph.D.s, many of whom have served as professors in various universities (e.g., Auburn University, Indiana University Medical School, Johns Hopkins University Medical School, University of Pittsburg Medical School). Dr. Matson is editor-in-chief of two journals, which he founded, Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Research in Developmental Disabilities, and is the author of more than 500 publications, including 34 books and 16 tests.
