Maureen Child was born in 1951. She sold her first book in September of 1990. She has since written 75 more books. Before she started writing she held jobs as varied as a bank teller to delivering singing telegrams. Over the years, she's written under different names and has been known as Ann Carberry, Sarah Hart and Kathleen Kane. She's written historical romances set in the wild west, and paranormal romances. She's written Americana and even, once, a romance set in Victorian England. Now, Child writes Silhouette Desires and mainstream contemporary romances for St. Martin's Press. CBS made a movie based on A Pocketful of Paradise, which was retitled, The Soul Collector.
