Rachel Ray, born on August 25, 1968 in Glens Falls, New York, is a talk-show and Food Network host and author of several best-selling cookbooks. She grew up in Lake George, New York. Her family owned a restaurant in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and her mother managed restaurants in upstate New York. Ray says that her grandfather, Emmanuel Scuderi, and her Cajun ancestory were also strong influences on her cooking. In 2006, Ray's "30 Minute Meals" received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Service Show. In September of 2006, "The Rachael Ray Show" premiered as a daytime talk show. Ray also received an award, the Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment, for her show in 2008.… With the help of Bill Clinton, Ray launched the charity, "Yumo-O! Organization" in 2007 to help combat childhood hunger and to educate children and families on healthy eating. Ray is married to John Cusimano, a lawyer and lead singer of the band "The Cringe".
