Amis has been involved in angel investing, capital matchmaking, and start-ups since 1989. In 1995 he led the buyout of Venture Capital Report (UK), the first and most successful angel introduction service in the world and served as Managing Director until 1997. In 1998 he founded Capitalyst (www.capitalyst.com) which provides co-investment opportunities to angel investors using a proprietary screening process called StartUpScreen. In 1999 he founded the StartUpFund which allows investors to participate in a diversified portfolio of over 35 early stage investments. He is also a featured speaker at conferences and workshops throughout the USA and Europe.
