BiographyKathy Marsden (writing as Kathryn Myra Spencer) was born in Duncan, BC, Canada in 1951. She grew up next to the Cowichan River, on a property homesteaded by her Irish grandfather in 1885. As the village of Paldi was just a few miles away, she attended school with the Paldi children and came to know a little about their culture. Thus began her love for India.At 17 she left her pastoral home and moved to Vancouver where she attended the University of British Columbia and received a BA in Art History and English Literature.
