Kenneth J. Ken Peak (Ph.D., University of Kansas) is co-author of six editions of Community Policing and Problem Solving: Strategies and Practices (Pearson Education). He is also author or co-author of several related journal articles concerning community policing (as it relates to ethics, repeat victimization, training, maintaining neighborhood order, planning and implementation, problem-oriented responses to homelessness, and improving citizen perceptions of the police) and has presented a number of related scholarly papers. He also co-authored three monographs (i.e., problem solving Guides ) for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, the topics of… which were crimes involving tourism, cruising, and illegal street racing; he is often contacted by print and electronic media in the U.S. and Canada requesting interviews and written op-eds in those regards. He also has practitionerrsquo;s experience-twice being a university police chief executive. Finally, he has previously co-authored three encyclopedic pieces, and is thus familiar with the fundamental purposes, rationale, and approaches of such publications.
