A former high school English department chair, Denny Wolfe is now professor of English education and director of the Center for Urban Education at Old Dominion University. He has served NCTE in numerous capacities, including chair of the standing committee on teacher preparation and certification, president of the international assembly, member of the executive committee of the Conference on English Education, and editor of the SLATE newsletter.
