Comedian and TV host Dennis Miller was born in Philadelphia on November 3, 1953 and was educated at Point Park College. While working as a comedian at the Comedy Store, Miller was discovered by Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels. He did the Weekend Update for SNL for six years until he left the set to create The Dennis Miller Show. Unfortunately for Miller, the show did not go over well and was canceled after six months. Miller then went on to HBO, where he created Dennis Miller Live. A collection of his best shows, Dennis Miller: The Rants, was published in 1996.
