Mary Kay Andrews received a B.A. in journalism from the University of Georgia. She started her professional journalism career in Savannah, Georgia, where she covered the real-life murder trials which were the basis of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Before becoming a professional writer, she worked for fourteen years as a reporter, mainly at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Under her real name Kathy Hogan Trocheck, she wrote 10 mysteries, including the Callahan Garrity Mystery series. Under Mary Kay Andrews, she has written Savannah Breeze, Blue Christmas, Hissy Fit, Little Bitty Lies, Savannah Blues, Summer Rental, Spring Fever, and Christmas Bliss. Her title's Ladies Night and… Save the Date made The New York Times Best Seller List in 2014. She is also a frequent lecturer and writing teacher at workshops including Emory University, the University of Georgia's Harriet Austin Writer's Workshop, the Tennessee Mountain Writer's Workshop and the Antioch Writer's Workshop.
