Description:

A text developed for a two-semester set of courses taught to first- year graduate students at Arizona State U., although a number of advanced topics are covered that are not included in the courses. The basic physics of semiconductor structures is followed by coverage of transport. Emphasis is on semiconductors rather than on metals (electrical engineers may find the latter esoteric and unappealing). Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
