Born on August 16, 1954 in Kapuasking, Ontario, James Cameron is the director and screenwriter of big-action, big-budget movies, such as The Terminator (1984), Aliens (1986), First Blood (1985), The Abyss (1989), and True Lies (1994). In 1998, his blockbuster Titanic won 11 Oscars. Cameron himself took home statues for best editing, best directing and best picture. Cameron began his fascination with movies at age seven after moving to Los Angeles from Canada. Known for his personal intensity and his technical wizardry, he frequently builds his own cameras. In 1993 he founded Digital Domain, a computer special effects company. Cameron has written Terminator 2: Judgment Day and James… Cameron's Titanic, two books about making those successful films.
