We respond to most e-mails within 24 hours.
We mail all books within 2 business days of receiving your order, and usually next day. We will send you an e-mail with the US Postal Service's Delivery Confirmation Number once your book is in the mail. While not a full-fledged tracking service, this number can be used to follow the progress of your shipment through the major mail hubs, and will show the date and time of delivery to your address. We verify all addresses through the US Postal Service's address database to ensure delivery; if we can not find an exact match we may contact you for more information before we ship. Since we use the mail, you must provide a valid mailing address, which may be different than your street address. We will not issue a refund under any circumstances for claims of non-delivery when the Postal Service's Delivery Confirmation information shows that the item was delivered to the address provided.
Please understand that Standard Shipping is by Media Mail, which takes about a week for delivery in most cases. However, it can sometimes take 2 and in rare cases, 3 weeks. This is especially likely during heavy mail times, such as the beginning of the school year and major holidays. If you need your book more quickly than that, we strongly suggest choosing Priority Mail shipping, which takes 2-3 days in the contiguous 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, APO/FPOs and other US territories and Protectorates should ALWAYS choose Priority Mail. Media Mail usually travels by boat to these locations, so delivery times of 3-4 weeks is common. Priority Mail goes by air and gets to most of these locations within a week. Due to the significant cost difference we are unable to offer complimentary postage upgrades.
In the event you need to return a book, and that return is not due to an error on our part, you must contact us within 14 days from the day you received it to arrange for its return. We must have it IN HAND within 21 days. Return shipping costs will be paid by you. All returned books are subject to a 10% restocking fee. We do not refund the original shipping charge, since we incurred the cost of shipping the book to you initially, and cannot get that money back from the Postal Service. The book must be returned in the same condition in which you received it; we reserve the right to reduce your refund if it shows signs of use or is damaged due to improper packaging when you shipped it back to us, up to 100% of the cost of the book.
In the event that the book needs to be returned due to an error on our part (shipped you a different book than you ordered, for example), we will e-mail you a postage-paid shipping label to use on the package. We will issue a refund for 100% purchase price of the book AND the initial shipping charges. Due to the systems we have in place, errors of this type are very rare.
All books listed here are in our inventory - we do not drop ship from other sellers or publisher's warehouses. We do, however, offer our books on multiple online venues, so there is a slight chance an item may have been sold before we were able to get it deleted from this site. If that does occur, we will contact you and issue an immediate refund.
