J.H.O. Olowe hails from Nigeria. He attended the University of Ife and earned his bachelor's degree in 1978. After Olowe's service in the NYSC program, he earned his master's degree and PhD from the University of Ife. He taught in the department of English unti l his retirement in 2004. He lives with his wife, Tokunbo, in Silver Spring, Maryland.
