Seller notes: "Design and Construction of Ports and Marine Structures, Parts I and II (Complete)" by Alonzo DeF. Quinn was custom published for Polytechnic University's Transportation 672 class, under the instruction of Paul I. Cohen. Tailored to meet the course requirements, this edition covers both Parts I and II comprehensively, focusing on topics related to port design and construction. Despite its custom publication, the book maintains its integrity and serves as a valuable resource for students and professionals in the field. Presented in a softcover format, the publication features faxsimile pages with two pages printed per front leaf (blank on reverse of leaves). This Second Edition, from 1976 with a 4th printing, includes both Parts I and II in their entirety. Despite its fair condition, the edition remains functional. Part I exhibits a small stain, approximately an inch long and 2-3 inches from the top of the front cover, extending to the front edge of the text block through the first 50 leaves. However, this staining minimally affects readability and is hardly noticeable in the interior. Similarly, the rear cover of Part I shows staining, but the interior remains unaffected. In contrast, Part II is in Very Good condition, maintaining cleanliness throughout. Despite these imperfections, the covers of both parts are well-preserved, and the bindings remain square and tight, ensuring the integrity of the book's structure. Organization stamps, though present, are neatly marked out at the bottoms of the title pages, and the interior pages are clean and unmarked. The chapters cover a wide array of topics essential to understanding port design and construction, including growth and regulation of ports, wind, tides, and waves, harbor planning and construction, breakwaters, port buildings, cargo-handling equipment, navigation aids, marinas, and more. An index is also included for easy reference. For shipment, the book will be meticulously packaged to protect it from the elements, and a USPS electronic tracking number will be provided free of charge. Please feel free to contact us for further information or additional pictures of the book. 611 pages.
