Walls of Freedom Street Art of the Egyptian Revolution

Basma Hamdy is a professor, artist and designer from Cairo. She studied at the American University in Cairo, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and obtained her MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art. She is passionate about Arabic calligraphy, typography, street art and photography. She currently teaches Graphic Design at the College of fine Arts, University of Sharjah, UAE.

Mona Eltahawy, is an award-winning journalist based in New York. Her work has appeared in the Washington Post, The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, and the Miami Herald among others. Eltahawy is a frequent guest analyst on U.S. radio and television news shows.

Ahdaf Soueif was born in Cairo and educated in Egypt and England. She lives in London.
