Dessa K. Bergen-Cico is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health and Nutrition Sciences in the College of Human Ecology and lead faculty for the Addiction Studies Program at Syracuse University. Dr Bergen-Cico is a Certified Addiction Specialist. In addition to conducting research with veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse, she has served as the director of the University's substance abuse counseling center and sexual assault crisis services.
