This groundbreaking book teaches essential survival skills that can keep you safe on the street, covering awareness, avoidance, de-escalation, countervailing force, armed conflict, aftermath of violence, and weapon features/functions. A variety of scenarios help readers internalize this knowledge. Experienced martial artists, street-savvy professionals, and everyone in-between can benefit from this information.

Kris Wilder started practicing the martial arts at the age of fifteen. Over the years he has earned black belt rankings in three styles, Goju-Ryu karate (5th dan), taekwondo (2nd dan), and judo (1st dan), in which he has competed in senior nationals and international tournaments. He has been blessed with the opportunity to train under skilled instructors, including Olympic athletes, state champions, national champions, and gifted martial artists who take their lineage directly from the founders of their systems. He teaches seminars worldwide, focusing on growing a person's martial technique and their understanding, whatever their art may be. Kris also serves as a National Representative for the University of New Mexico's Institute of Traditional Martial Arts.Since 1970, Lawrence Kane has studied and taught traditional Asian martial arts, medieval European combat, and modern close-quarter weapon techniques. Working stadium security part-time over 26 years he was involved in hundreds of violent altercations, but got paid to watch football. A world-renown judicious use-of-force expert, he was once interviewed in English by a reporter from a Swiss magazine for an article that was published in French, and finds that oddly amusing. To pay the bills he develops IT strategies for an aerospace company where he gets to play with billions of dollars of other people's money and make really important decisions.
