Joe Ruffini was born in Washington, D.C. He attended the University of Virginia on an Army ROTC scholarship and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation. His twenty year military career included command of armor and armored cavalry units in both the American and British armies and command of the U.S. Space Surveillance and Space Defense Operations Centers in Cheyenne Mountain.Joe's military and civilian experience is diverse and spans a wide range of disciplines to include information and psychological operations, counter terror and counter insurgency plans and operations in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. As founder and principal consultant for JPR… & Associates, LLC of Colorado Springs, he specializes in terror awareness training and education for government, first responders and communities, school safety, and corporate risk management and business continuity.A featured presenter and keynote speaker at numerous venues, Joe Ruffini's no nonsense, down-to-Earth approach to his subject matter educates and entertains audiences from coast to coast each year. His first paperback book, When Terror Comes to Main Street: A Citizens' Guide to Terror Awareness, Preparedness and Prevention, was first published in 2006 and again in 2008 by the Special Operations Association.
