Darla K. Deardorff is Executive Director of the Association of International Education Administrators, a national professional organization based at Duke University, where she is a Research Scholar in Education. In addition, she holds faculty positions at other institutions including Leeds-Metropolitan University (UK) and the Summer Institute of Intercultural Communication (Oregon). With five books and numerous articles, she has published widely on international education and cross-cultural issues including Building Cultural Competence (Stylus, 2012).
