Scott Louis Diering, M.D., was born and raised in New Jersey. The second of three children, he grew up ever-curious and thirsting for knowledge and education. He graduated Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ in 1983, and earned a Master's degree in clinical psychology from UNC-Greensboro in 1986. He worked with developmentally disabled adults while preparing for medical school. He graduated Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1992. After being accepted in, but not integrating well with, a neurosurgical residency, he completed a residency in emergency medicine, at the University of Michigan, in 1998. He now lives and practices emergency medicine in Maryland. The father of three… children, he is always seeking ways to make the world a better place. If you have any suggestions on how to make Love Your Patients! or healthcare better, please let him know.
