The author is a retired medical physician who practiced for 21 years in the northern New England community of Newport, Vermont. He has been a registered SASS shooter since 1998 and belongs to three SASS Cowboy Shooting Clubs-The Dalton Gang of Dalton, New Hampshire-The Verdant Mountain Vigilantes of St. Johnsbury, Vermont-and The Gold Coast Gunslingers of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
