He has received several awards for his research: the Delta Pi Epsilon doctoral research award; the Omicron Tau Theta Iota Chapter Research Award; and the Delta Pi Epsilon Alpha Chapter Research Award. The results of his research have been published in national and international journals.

Dr. Allan A. Glatthorn (deceased) was a Distinguished Research Professor of Education (Emeritus) at East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina.
