Steven Cox earned his B.S. in psychology, M.A. in sociology, and Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign. Dr. Cox was a member of the Law Enforcement and Justice Administration faculty at Western Illinois University from 1975 to 2007. For the past 45 years he has served as trainer and consultant to numerous criminal justice agencies in the United States and abroad and has worked with several universities in the area of course development. In addition, Dr. Cox has authored and co-authored numerous successful textbooks and articles.

Dr. William P. McCamey was a Professor in the School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration at Western Illinois University from 1982 to 2012. Dr. McCamey earned a B.S. and M.A. in Law Enforcement Administration, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Dr. McCamey has served as a criminal investigator, police trainer and has co-authored four textbooks and numerous journal articles.

Dr. Gene L. Scaramella taught in and coordinated criminal justice programs in both career colleges and 2/4 year public colleges and universities in the Chicago area. His areas of academic foci included organized and white collar crime, research methodologies, and policing. Dr. Scaramella was also a former member of the Chicago Police Department where his last assignment was in the organized crime unit. He passed away in August 2012.
