This media edition of Gargiulo's groundbreaking first edition offers comprehensive coverage of human exceptionalities across the life span. Now reinforced with a FREE unparalleled CD-ROM that includes over 60 minutes of video and interactive activities, this book and technology package provides students with a rare glimpse into the lives of persons with exceptionalities, their families, and their teachers. The text employs a traditional organization that includes four foundations chapters and nine "categorical" chapters, each of which follows a common format. Placing a strong emphasis on inclusion, each categorical chapter also features sections on transition, multicultural consideration, and use of technology.

Richard Gargiulo is a Professor of Special Education in the School of Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
