An exciting new full color textbook, this is the foundational text for introducing concepts in communication sciences and disorders. Written in accessible, engaging and caring language, it is also rooted in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association?s ?Big Nine? knowledge and skill areas. Units provide cohesive ?big picture? introductions and conclusions, while individual chapters focus on key information in smaller, manageable packages. But this text goes beyond expectations for an introductory text and explores the emotional and social effects of disorders to help readers truly understand the profession. Visually engaging with colorful boxes, figures, and photos and loaded with special features to enrich the learning experience, this is the total package.
