Rick Yancey received a B.A. in English from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Before becoming a full time writer in 2004, he worked as a field officer for the Internal Revenue Service. He is the author of the following series: The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp, The Highly Effective Detective, and The Monstrumologist. His other works include A Burning in Homeland and Confessions of a Tax Collector. In 2014 he made The New York Times Best Seller List with his title The Infinite Sea.
