Steve May (Ph.D., Utah; M.A. and B.A., Purdue) is currently Assistant Chair of the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Besides UNC, May has held positions at the University of Utah, Montana State University, and the University of Waikato (in New Zealand). Since 1999 hes been Editor of Management Communication Quarterly (Forum) [SAGE]. Hes also served as associate editor of Management Communication Quarterly (1996-98), Journal of Business Communication (1995-97), Electronic Journal of Radical Organizational Theory (1997), Australian Journal of Communication (special issue, 19970, Communication Theory (special issues, 1996, 1997), and… Journal of Applied Communication Research (1993-96). Forthcoming books include Work and Identity in the New Millennium (Berrett-Koehler) and Corporate Social Responsibility (Oxford; George Cheney co-author). Hes the recipient of numerous teaching awards and research grants.
