Agnes C. Laut was born at Brucefield, Huron County, Ontario on February 11, 1871. She worked as an editorial writer with the Manitoba Free Press from 1895 to 1897. She dies in New York in 1936. She wrote many books that chronicled the fur trade in Canada. She also wrote about the social history of Canada.
