Larry Alan Harris was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 31, 1947. He received a bachelor's degree from the New York Institute of Technology. In 1971, he was hired by his second cousin Neil Bogart as a promotion man for the Buddah and Kama Sutra record labels. In 1973, Bogart founded his own label, Casablanca, and took Harris with him. They signed Kiss, Donna Summer, and the Village People. They both left the record label in 1979. Casablanca was absorbed by PolyGram and later went dormant. Harris worked for the Track Record Company and opened a comedy club, the Seattle Improv, in 2002.
