His Texas roots were planted in the 1840s when his ancestors migrated from Alabama and Illinois; His great great grandfather served in General Sibley's Texas Mounted Volunteers during the Civil War, he had a great uncle who wore the badge of a Texas Ranger, and his grandfather was half Cheyenne. He is the author of Wooden Nickels: 5 Tall Tales in Short Story form. This is his first novel.
