MICHAEL K. BARTALOS, M.D. is Physician and Co-Chair of the Columbia University Seminar on Death. Trained at the Universities of Budapest and Heidelberg, as well as Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Bartalos has been a longtime professor holding appointments in the departments of Psychiatry, Surgery, Pathology, Pediatrics and Radiology. His primary goal is to understand and assist the healing of body and mind. His many awards include a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, The Presidential Medal from the Republic of Hungary, and the Research Scholar Award at Howard University.
