Dr. Robert Hernandez is a Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration in the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and served as Department Chair from 1994 to 2000. He is a graduate of the Masters of Science in Hospital Administration Program at UAB, and received his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Hernandez has worked in the health services administration field for more than 30 years and has served as Chair of the Health Care Administration Division of the Academy of Management.
