Ronald B. Woods, PhD, is an award-winning performance coach with Human Performance Institute, a consultant to the United States Tennis Association, and an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida. He received his PhD from Temple University. He has 40 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator of sports.Previously, he spent 20 years with the United States Tennis Association. He was named the first director of player development of a program that assisted in the development of top junior players into touring professional players—including Pete Sampras, Venus and Serena Williams, and Jennifer Capriati. In 1996, the International Tennis Hall of Fame awarded him… the Educational Merit Award.He was honored by the United States Professional Tennis Association as National Coach of the Year in 1982 and named a Master Professional in 1984. He is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Dance and was a member of the U.S. Olympic Coaching Committee for eight years.
