Susanna Kaysen was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 11, 1948. Her memoir Girl, Interrupted is the harrowing account of her two year confinement in the McLean Psychiatric Hospital and was been adapted into a motion picture starring Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie.
