The author holds a bachelor's degree in sociology with a special interest in criminal behavior and psychology. After graduation he works as a probation officer/group counselor at Central Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles. Upon obtaining a Ph.D. in Hispanic languages and literatures at UCLA he soon becomes a Spanish language interpreter for The Superior Court of Los Angeles. Mr. Neumann next finds a renewed interest in juvenile delinquency that leads him back to Eastlake Juvenile Court located in front of the juvenile hall that had offered him his first job out of college.
