Lilian Jackson Braun is a mystery writer and journalist. She was born in Michigan in 1916 Braun was a journalist and served as the "Good Living" editor of The Detroit Free Press for nearly 30 years. In the 1960s, Braun wrote three novels, The Cat Who Could Read Backwards, The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern, and The Cat Who Turned On and Off. After a 20-year break, Braun published The Cat Who Saw Red, and within two years she had published four new novels.
