Description:

Although basic electronics principles have not changed, the application of those principles has. Where the book mentions VCRs and portable stereos, for example, we need to update to DVD players and iPods. In addition, integrated circuits have become more prevalent and there have been changes to technology such as the capacity of an integrated circuit (up from 1,000s, as cited in the book, to hundreds of millions of transistors on a single chip). The book references some component model numbers, and these may require updating. In addition it might be useful to add a Web site appendix with useful resources for additional exploration of electronics.
