Ray Suarez has spent the last thirty years as a journalist covering some of the largest urban areas in the world, including New York City, Los Angeles, London, Rome, and Chicago. He is currently a Washington-based senior correspondent for the NewsHour on PBS. He came to the NewsHour from National Public Radio where he had been host of the nationwide, call-in news program "Talk of the Nation" since 1993. His books include The Holy Vote: The Politics of Faith in America and The Old Neighborhood: What We Lost in the Great Suburban Migration . His next book, on demographic change in the US, has the working title Life in the Next America.
