George Szekely (Ed.D., Columbia University) is Professor of Art Education and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Kentucky. In addition to his university career, he has taught in public schools, art colleges, and adult education programs. His writings on art education have been widely published, and his books include Encouraging Creativity in Art Lessons, A Study of Community: Staten Island Architecture and Environment, and Music and Art in the Elementary School (with M. Adler). Szekely is also an established artist with exhibits in galleries in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
