He served previously as Acting Dean, Associate Dean for Faculty Development, and Faculty Director for Masters Programs. He has held faculty positions at Northwestern University, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and Yale, York, and Michigan State. He is the recipient of the American Psychological Assocation's james McKeen Cattell Award (now called the Ghiselli Award) for research design.
