Featuring a strikingly diverse and impressive team of authors, this is the most comprehensive textbook available for courses on international organizations and global governance. This book covers the history, theories, structure, activities and policies of both state-centred institutions, and non-state actors in global politics. It could be argued that understanding how the world is governed remains one of the primary concerns of IR scholars. Yet, the central relationship of International Organizations and global governance to the study and practice of IR is seldom acknowledged or understood. This text aims to rectify this by looking at the central questions about how the world is organized and governed and seeks to provide a better understanding of the role myriad actors play in the governance of global life whilst offering an intriguing framework for what is the most complete guide yet published to help readers assemble the many pieces of the contemporary global governance puzzle.
