L. F. Hoffman is a food-and-wine writer. He is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Before beginning to write, Hoffman worked as a merchant seaman, chef, bartender, and college professor. In 1997, he published The Bachelor's Cat: A Love Story, about a man with a stressful career as an artist and his beautiful, but manipulative, girlfriend.
