Jenny Mechem Bender is the author of The Resourceful Writing Teacher (2007). She taught both 2nd grade and 7th grade literacy in New York City public schools. For the past several years, she has been a staff developer with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, where she works with teachers in K - 8 classrooms, helping them acquire and hone the skills they need to lead effective reading and writing workshops. Jenny also trains literacy coaches and leads workshops and study groups for educators around the country.
