Dwight Van de Vate, Jr., former president of the Southern Society for Philosophy and Psychology, has contributed to leading philosophy journals. Since earning his B.A. at Wesleyan and his Ph.D. at Yale he has taught at Mississippi, Florida State, Memphis State, and the University of Tennessee, where he is professor of philosophy.
