Linda Kerber is May Brodbeck Professor in Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa (Ph. D. Columbia University). She specializes in U.S. gender and legal history. Her books include: No Constitutional Right to Be Ladies (Hill and Wang, 1999), Toward an Intellectual History of Women(UNC Press, 1997) and Women of the Republic (UNC Press, 1997). She is the Former President of OAH and AHA and Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Cornelia Dayton is Associate Professor of History at the University of Connecticut (Ph. D. Princeton University). She specializes in U.S.legal history, History of U.S. women, and U.S. history to 1820. Her books include: Women Before the Bar… (UNC Press, 1995).
