The text carefully examines the characteristics, procedures, policies, and problems of American juvenile justice systems. The authors also discuss the issues and challenges that must be faced in order to develop more just systems and a more humane present and future for juveniles. The text maintains a balance of theory, evidence-based findings, law, and practice, and provides the most up-to-date material possible.
