Joanna Campbell was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut. In her early twenties, she took open jumping lessons and competed in cross-country point-to-points. Campbell also became an accomplished classic pianist and vocalist and has performed professionally. Campbell wrote in the evenings after spending days working a full time job for a small corporate importing company.
