Description:

Some planets are extremely big-so huge that 1,300 Earths could fit inside one. Some planets are extremely little-smaller than Earth's moon. Some planets are extremely fast-speeding through space at 104,000 miles an hour. Some planets may not be planets at all! Extreme Planets Q&A has answers to questions such as: What makes up a planet? Why is Earth the only known world where life exists? How can a planet's day actually be longer than its year? So buckle up as you blast off for an extreme voyage through the solar system, from Mercury to Neptune and beyond!

Mary Kay Carson and Tom Uhlman met while working on a magazine article about breeding captive rhinos in 2001. Now they are married and live with their dog Ruby in a century-old house surrounded by deer, hawks, woodchucks, songbirds, and other creatures in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Sarah L. Thomson attended college in Oberlin, Ohio. After graduation, she moved to New York and worked in publishing. She eventually became a senior editor at HarperCollins Children's Books. She became a full-time author shortly after her first book, The Dragon's Son, was published. Her works include Stars and Stripes: The Story of the American Flag; all the Wildlife Conservation Society I Can Read Books, including Amazing Tigers!, winner of an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award; and What Lincoln Said.
